Cuban native was signed by the Astros as a 24-year-old non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2015...signed by Astros scout Charlie Gonzalez... Was one of four Cuban players invited to Astros Spring Training, joining RHP Rogelio Armenteros, 1B Yuli Gurriel and LHP Cionel Perez... Is signed to a minor league contract for the 2018 season...invited to Major League Spring Training on Jan. 25, 2018, marking his second consecutive year as an NRI.


Combined to hit .235 (76x323) with 18 doubles, four home runs and 35 RBI in 92 games between Triple A Fresno (50g) and Double A Corpus Christi (42g)...began his season as a non-roster invite at Astros Spring Training and impressed, hitting .333 (10x30) with six RBI in 21 games...assigned to Corpus Christi, where he played 42 games before a promotion to Fresno on May 30...turned his season around with the Grizzlies, hitting .269 (43x160) in 50 games.
