Was a four year letter winner at Elk Grove High School in California...was a two-time high school All-American and was named the NorCal Player of the Year in both his junior and senior years...was drafted in the fifth round of the June 2011 draft by the Tampa Bay Rays but did not sign... Elected to attend Cal State Fullerton where he was named to the All-Big West First Team in his sophomore and junior years...in his junior year, led the Titans in batting average (.338), OBP (.419) and slugging (.523)... Was drafted by Houston in the third round of the June 2014 draft...signed by Astros scout Brad Budzinski... Was originally selected to the Major League roster on Aug. 5, 2017...is currently signed to a one-year contract that runs through 2018.

2017

Had a stellar 2016 season, which was spent with the Double A Corpus Christi Hooks...set career highs in games (126) and doubles (34)...batted .268 (130x539) with an .818 OPS (.334 OBP/.485 SLG), 23 homers and 81 RBI in 126 games...won Texas League Player of the Week four times, was named a Midseason All-Star, earned MiLB.com Texas League Player of the Month honors for May and was named an MiLB Organization All-Star... was an NRI for the Astros in Spring Training for the first time in his career...appeared in eight games, tallying four hits in nine at bats...scored three runs, brought in one run and walked once...had a season-long-tying, 12-game hitting streak from May 13-24...batted .396 (21x54) with five doubles, six homers and 14 RBI during the run...he won two consecutive Player of the Week awards during that streak...tied his season-long hitting streak from Aug. 16-28, where he batted .444 with 20 hits, five doubles, a triple, five homers and 12 RBI...won two more Player of the Week awards during the streak.

2015

Played his entire second professional season at Class A Advanced Lancaster and posted big numbers with a .289 average (140x485), 28 doubles, 26 home runs, 101 RBI and a .890 OPS...ranked third among all Astros prospects in home runs and RBI and ranked sixth all of minor league baseball in RBI...was twice named the California League Player of the Week for the weeks ending on Aug. 10 and Aug. 31...was solid all of August as he hit .382 (29x76) with five doubles, 10 RBI and 27 RBI in 19 games in the month...was sidelined for a week from Aug. 16-24...appeared in all three of the JetHawks playoff games, going 3x11 with two home runs and three RBI...played for Glendale in the Arizona Fall League and played in the Rising Stars Game after hitting .279 (19x68) with six doubles, two home runs and eight RBI in 17 games in the AFL.

2014

Signed his first professional contract on June 12 and reported to Class A Short Season Tri-City...split his season between Tri-City (30g) and Class A Quad Cities (43g), combining to hit .293 (78x266) with 16 doubles, 13 home runs and 52 RBI en route to being named an MiLB.com Organizational All-Star...was named the New York-Penn League Player of the Week for June 30-July 6...had two doubles, two home runs and 11 RBI in six games that week...promoted to Quad Cities on July 15 and finished his season with the River Bandits...made all his starts at third base in 2014.
