HOUSTON, TX - The Astros will host two playoff contenders in the Oakland A's (August 26-27) and the LA Angels (September 2-3), as well as the in-state rival Texas Rangers (August 28-31) for a nine-game, 10-day homestand beginning on Monday. The Astros are currently 12-11 since July 28 and have taken series victories from both the A's and the Rangers in that span.
Tuesday, August 26 - 7:10 p.m. vs. Oakland
Tuesday night is HPD Night at Minute Maid Park. The Astros will invite over 3,500 members of the Houston Police Department to the ballgame, free of charge. The night will also feature a special pregame ceremony with the HPD Honor Guard and a first pitch thrown out by HPD Chief Charles McClelland.
The "Astros Fans Win with Slotomania Sweepstakes" resumes on Tuesday and will continue through the end of the weekend. The Astros host the only Social Media Night of the season on August 27 beginning at 5:00 p.m. Activities will include special pregame appearances by pitcher Collin McHugh, Astros mascot Orbit, GM Jeff Luhnow, TV broadcaster Bill Brown, radio broadcaster Steve Sparks and other guests to be announced. Tweets from our Social Media Night attendees will be included in the play-by-play of the game from the official @astros Twitter account. Participating fans will also receive an exclusive Social Media Night T-shirt. Friday, August 29 - 7:10 p.m. vs. Texas
In honor of the Lone Star rivalry, 10,000 fans will take home a Lone Star Series T-shirt, courtesy of Houston Methodist.
Prior to Friday's 7:10 p.m. game, Astros Executive Advisor Nolan Ryan will host several Japanese restaurateurs and winners of a Nolan Ryan Beef promotion for a press conference. Yakiniku Den Restaurants, a Japanese-style BBQ restaurant chain headquartered in Osaka, Japan, recently completed a major promotion of Nolan Ryan Beef in their restaurants. The winners of this promotion, along with the restaurant managers, will be traveling to Houston to meet Nolan Ryan and attend Friday night's ballgame as Ryan's special guests.
Big and Bright Friday Night returns with a postgame Friday Night Fireworks show, presented by Marathon Oil Corporation, following the conclusion of the game vs. the Texas Rangers. This week's show features a "movie magic" themed fireworks display.
Every Friday from 4:30-6:00 p.m. is St. Arnold Happy Hour, featuring $5, 12-ounce beers at the St. Arnold's Bar in left field. This Friday's Happy Hour will also feature live music from Samuel Barker.

Saturday, August 30 - 6:10 p.m. vs. Texas
The Astros and Rangers have more in common than a state and division rivalry. The two teams share the legacy of one of the greatest baseball families in the country, the Ryan family. Saturday's giveaway will be a double bobblehead of Nolan and Reid Ryan, inspired by the iconic photo of the two taken during Nolan Ryan's time as an Astro. The Reid and Nolan bobblehead, presented by Houston Methodist, will be distributed to 10,000 fans, with 50 lucky fans receiving bobbleheads signed by both Reid and Nolan.
Saturday is also Chevy Military Appreciation Night at Minute Maid Park. The pregame ceremony will feature a military color guard, national anthem, and presentation of the American flag by 40 volunteers in uniform.
Prior to Saturday's contest with the Rangers, MLB's August Player of the Week and Astros slugger Chris Carter will join Astros legend and Community Outreach Executive Jose Cruz for a free autograph session at Texas Bay Area Credit Union, located at 12611 Fuqua St., Houston, TX 77034 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Players subject to change.
