HOUSTON -- Astros manager Bo Porter successfully challenged a play in the fourth inning of Monday night's series opener against the Mariners.

Porter contested that a ball hit down the left-field line by Dustin Ackley was foul. The ball was originally ruled fair, and Ackley made it to second base with one out as a result.

After the call was overturned, Ackley had to go back to the plate, and Collin McHugh struck him out on the next pitch. But Brad Miller hit a home run in the next at-bat to give Seattle a 5-3 lead.

The challenge was Porter's 16th, with nine of those overturned. It was Porter's first challenge regarding whether a hit was fair or foul.
