The annual LULAC Cinco de Mayo Parade celebrates the pride, history and folklore behind the Mexicans' victory at the Battle of Puebla and has become a Houston tradition with over 100 entries. HOUSTON, TX - The Astros will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with several activities throughout the day on Saturday, May 3 prior to the 3:10pm contest vs. the Seattle Mariners at Minute Maid Park.

Astros alum and community outreach executive Jose "Cheo" Cruz will serve as the Grand Marshal for the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Cinco de Mayo Parade in downtown Houston, beginning at 10:00am on Saturday. Following the parade, the Astros Cinco de Mayo Street Festival, presented by Goya Latin Foods, will be open to all fans from 12:00-3:00pm on the Plaza on Crawford Street. The festival, which is free of charge and open to the public, will feature local food trucks, a live Mariachi band and activities for all ages. There will be two Q&A sessions during the festival, both hosted by Astros Spanish radio broadcasters Francisco Romero and Alex Trevino. The first, featuring Astros GM Jeff Luhnow, will take place from 12:45-1:00pm and the second, featuring Astros infielder Marwin Gonzalez and catcher Carlos Corporan, will take place from 1:35-1:45pm.

Additionally, the Astros will take the field in their Los Astros jerseys and 10,000 ticketed fans will receive a Los Astros t-shirt, also courtesy of Goya Latin Foods.
