Updated 2014 Astros Schedule

HOUSTON, TX -- Start times for the Astros 2014 regular season games have been released today in conjunction with Major League Baseball's release of the master schedule for all 30 clubs.

The Astros will open the 2014 championship season with a 6:10 p.m. game vs. the New York Yankees on Tuesday, April 1 at Minute Maid Park in the first of a three-game series. It will mark the first time in franchise history that the Astros have opened the regular season vs. the Yankees. Over the years, Houston has hosted the Yankees in two significant exhibition games, the first being the first game ever played in the Astrodome (April 9, 1965), and the second being the first game at Minute Maid Park (March 30, 2000). The Astros also hosted the Yankees in the final series of the 2013 season (Sept. 27-29).

The Astros will host many attractive opponents in 2014 featuring the top stars in baseball. Houston will host their intrastate rivals, the Texas Rangers, for 10 games this season, with the first matchup being a three-game set from May 12-14. The Rangers will return in August for a pair of weekend series, a three-gamer from Aug. 8-10 and a four-game set from Aug. 28-31.

On the weekend before the All-Star Break, July 11-13, the Astros will play three games at Minute Maid Park against the defending champion Boston Red Sox. Mike Trout, Albert Pujols and the AL West Division-rival Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will visit Minute Maid Park three times, including stops in April (4-7) and June (3-5). The Astros will also host Robinson Cano and the Seattle Mariners for three separate series as well. Bryce Harper, Stephen Strasburg and the Washington Nationals will be in Houston for two games, April 29-30, and two-time MVP Miguel Cabrera, Cy Young Award Winner Max Scherzer and the Detroit Tigers will visit Minute Maid Park for three games, June 27-29.
