Catcher Max Stassi, the Astros' No. 16 prospect, extended his streak of consecutive games with a home run to five with a solo shot in Double-A Corpus Christi's 11-10 loss to Frisco on Sunday. Stassi's streak is the longest in the Minor Leagues this season.

The Minor League record for most consecutive games with a home run is seven. It was most recently accomplished in 2008 by Dallas McPherson when he was playing with Triple-A Albuquerque.

Stassi is also riding a six-game hitting streak, which has raised his batting average 20 points in the last week. He is now hitting .262 with 10 home runs in 50 games this season.

Stassi told MiLB.com he credits his improvement to an improved mental outlook.

"I'm always constantly working on the mental game," Stassi said. "That's the biggest thing for me. You look at all the guys around here at this level and above, and you see how important the mental game is."

Stassi is in his first season in the Astros organization. He was drafted by the A's in 2009 and was a part of the package Oakland sent to Houston in exchange for shortstop Jed Lowrie in February.

Stassi will look to extend his streak tonight as Corpus Christi opens a three-game series at home against San Antonio.
