HOUSTON -- The Dell Diamond in Round Rock will be the likely destination for three Astros pitchers in the near future, if all goes well in the next few days.
Right-hander Brian Moehler (sprained right knee) threw a light side session on Tuesday and will throw a full bullpen Wednesday. If that goes well, he'll make an appearance for the Astros' Triple-A affiliate on Friday. Right-hander Brandon Backe (strained left side) is also scheduled to throw for the Express, on Monday.
Right-hander Doug Brocail (right rotator cuff strain) is slated for a simulated game on Wednesday, and he is still planning to make a one-inning appearance Friday in Round Rock.
"We have to see how the next few days go," manager Cecil Cooper said. "It's all tentative."
Moehler is eligible to come off the disabled list on April 30, while Brocail can be lifted on Sunday. Backe has been eligible since April 11.
