Astros manager Bo Porter will be the guest on the final Astroline of the offseason this Thursday. The call-in radio show will be broadcasted live from the ESPN Club on Disney's Boardwalk in Orlando. This marks the second broadcast of the 2012-13 offseason from Florida and the 15th overall. The show will be aired on the club's flagship radio station, SportsTalk 790 KBME, at 7 p.m. CT.
Hall of Fame broadcaster Milo Hamilton is back again this week to serve as the host of Astroline. As always, fans will have the option to call the show with questions at 713-212-5790.
Astroline, which is presented by Budweiser, has been broadcast live each Thursday from 7-8 p.m. CT during the 2012-13 offseason. This week's show will be the final installment of the offseason.
Porter was named the 17th manager in Astros franchise history on Sept. 27, 2012. At 40 years of age, he enters the 2013 season as the youngest skipper in the Major Leagues. A Houston resident, Porter has 18 years of combined experience as a player, coach and manager in the Major Leagues and minor leagues. He most recently spent the last two seasons as a third base coach for the Washington Nationals, who were NL East Champions in 2012 after posting the best record in the Majors (98-64).
Hamilton officially retired from the radio booth following the 2012 season, which was his 28th year with the Astros and his 59th year broadcasting Major League Baseball. Although he retired from calling games full time, Hamilton will remain active with the Astros moving forward in his new role as advisor to the owner.
