ATLANTA -- Outfielder Jordan Schafer returned to Atlanta this weekend for the first time as a member of the Astros. Schafer was picked by the Braves in the third round of the 2005 First-Year Player Draft and played two seasons in Atlanta before being traded to the Astros as part of the Michael Bourn deal last year.
Schafer said he has nothing but good memories from his time with the Braves and still has a house in the area.
"I loved being here," Schafer said. "I loved the city. I loved everything about the place and playing here. Baseball's a business and you move on and I'm thankful for the opportunity I have now in Houston."
Schafer started the first game of the series, going 1-for-4. He pinch-hit in Saturday's game and was not in Sunday's starting lineup.
Schafer is hitting .219 with a .307 on-base percentage for this season.
