Altuve day to day with mild right hamstring strain
HOUSTON -- Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is day to day after leaving Sunday's game against the Indians with a mildly strained right hamstring.

The injury happened on a groundout by Altuve in the fourth inning. He said he felt a little pull just before reaching first base.

"But I feel like I can play soon," Altuve said.

Manager Brad Mills decided to play it safe and took Altuve out. Brian Bixler came in to play second base. Mills said the Astros will just have to wait to see if the hamstring is bothering Altuve on Monday.

"It seems like those things are never mild," Mills said.

After grounding out, Altuve hobbled back to the dugout with a trainer. He was walking around the clubhouse after the game with no visible limp. He said he has never had problems with his hamstrings.

On the season, Altuve is batting .309. He has played in 71 of 72 games.
