Bourn had one of the Astros' two hits Saturday against Rangers starter Colby Lewis. In the seventh, Bourn sliced a double down the line and later scored the only Astros run on a wild pitch by Lewis.
"He came in early and worked on some things," Astros manager Brad Mills said. "He had some better at-bats. Having him on base sure is nice."
After getting off to a hot start through the first two months, Bourn has cooled off in June, hitting just .203 this month. He said Saturday's game was a step in the right direction.
"I'm not pushing the panic button," Bourn said. "I just have to work through it and take it day by day. Sometimes it's going to test you, but you really have to dig in."
